If you choose public transport (plane, train or bus) to get to Raz Surf Camp at Playa de Razo, Carballo (A Coruña province) you have two options: A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela.
Transport from the student’s hometown to the cities of A Coruña or Santiago de Compostela is at the student’s own expense, we take care of the transfer (transport) to the Camp from those cities and vice versa as long as they are at the agreed time.
A CORUÑA the closest terminal to Playa de Razo, 40 minutes away and the best option for everyone. Transfers from and to A Coruña are included in our total price, (as long as they are during agreed times).
If you decide to travel in your own vehicle, your destination will be CARBALLO and once you get there, another 9 kms to Playa de Razo, where you will pass in front of the Camp at the end of the entrance straight to the beach. There’s no way to get lost.
Our instructors will pick you up at the airport and take you to the surf camp, making your trip very easy.
Pick-ups are made on camp start dates, which is the first day that we indicate in the duration of each camp (eg: Camp 1: from July 4th to 11th) and the departures on the final day of each camp (eg: Camp 1: from July 4th to 11th).
Transfers are made by our own authorised transport vehicles and by a specialised company. We also use trusted local taxi drivers who have been working with us for more than 15 years.
If you are arriving by car, the reception will be waiting for your entry from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We begin the pick upson Sundays, the entry day, at the different transport terminals from 11:00 a.m. and with the following prices and times:

You can book your place with a small deposit. The remaining amount can be paid at any time, with a deadline of 20 days before the start of the camp you have chosen.
We will also send you a reminder to give you enough time to make any payments. Add our address to your contact list to make sure you get the reminder.
We will contact you using the e-mail you provide in your reservation. You will have to make the payment 20 days before the start of the camp.
The amount of the reservation for each Camp is always € 90. The payment of the same has to be made by card payment, always from the information of each Camp on our website www.razsurfcamp.com
In case of canceling the booking at least 30 days before the beginning of the camp, the full amount will be refunded. If it is cancelled with less than 30 days for the beginning of the reserved camp, the amount will be considered lost.
The second payment must be made 20 days before the start of the chosen Camp. We’ll contact you through the email you selected on the booking.
It is essential to have the entire amount of the Camp paid to start the activity. You will find the conditions regarding the cancellation of the reservation of places on our website at the following link: Terms
Large groups may need to make more than one booking. You can be a maximum of 6 people in 1 room (subject to availability). If you want, you can make a joint booking for the whole group. And, if you have the same level of surfing, you can even go to class together if you want!
If you are booking for a group of 3 or more people, you may be entitled to a special discount. The discount is 3% per person. Check the corresponding box on the form.
In case of cancellation, refunds depend on the time of cancellation. As with any other holiday package, cancellation fees may apply. Yes, you can do two or more camps in a row, in fact more and more students are doing it. A week goes by very fast!
They come from absolutely everywhere, sometimes we are even surprised! . The vast majority come from Spain both from the coast and from other regions. In certain seasons we have quite a few foreign visitors from northern Europe and also students who have crossed the pond to be with us: the United States, Canada, Mexico…
A very high percentage of our students have never had any experience with surfing. You will find that with the exception of veterans and those who come to improve, who work differently, the vast majority are in the same boat and it’s their first experience with surfing. Our beginners’ method starts from scratch and the goal is to enjoy the waves and lay the foundations of everything you need to know to be able to enjoy surfing on other beaches. You just have to know how to swim and be willing to make the effort involved in learning, always in a safe and fun way.
On Playa de Razo, the swimming areas are cordoned off and there are local authority lifeguards throughout the summer controlling the areas where we catch waves.
At the same time, our ratio of one instructor for every six students gives us an easy view of the group at all times. Outside of class time, a supervised surf zone is designated in which there will be an instructor ensuring the safety of the students.
All of our monitors are certified and have first aid knowledge. Students are insured from day one.
To spend the night in the camp the minimum age is 12 years. Last year, the median age was 15 in July. We can’t predict the future , but the average age is likely to remain the same for next season.
For classes the only essential requirement is to know how to swim.
The maximum age? You set the limits. You are as old as you feel.
Classes are two hours a day with an instructor for every 6 beginner level students. After classes you can stay in the water in the areas supervised by lifeguards and / or instructors. In the afternoons, free swimming sessions are controlled , we will designate an area that will be supervised by instructors.
You will have the material at your disposal throughout the day so it only depends on what you want to do and the stamina of your muscles, some people like to surf for 8 hours a day.
There is 24-hour adult supervision. At night there are caretakers in charge of the making sure the camp is safe and peaceful. We put some simple rules of coexistence and safety, if they are broken the student will return home at the expense of their guardians if they are minor, without the right to any refund. We do not make exceptions here.
If you already have a certain level, you enter the improvement group. Here the student-instructor ratio changes as well as the style of the classes.

Sure! Changing equipment when you are already used to it is often not a good idea.
Sometimes, when you start surfing without going to a surfing school you try to use boards that are too advanced for your level, boards that are too small, thin or narrow that just hold back our improvement.
At Raz SurfCamp we have many boards from round nose 5’6 to 9 ‘longboards. Your monitor will guide you on the material so that you always have the board that best suits your level, weight and height.
If you find an adventure partner, you will share the excitement of the journey, although many students come alone the first time. The following year they usually return with people they have met at the Camp and with whom they have become friends. Friendships that in many cases last a lifetime.
If you are a minor, do not forget to bring the authorisation that we send you by e-mail, duly signed by parents / guardians. It is essential to be able to start the activity.
What do you need to pack in your SMALL SUITCASE?
Ear plugs, in order to avoid otitis when surfing, especially for students prone to this ailment.
We only use local products from the area and the weekly menu is made up of a balanced diet designed to give you energy every day while surfing. Two dishes and dessert at noon and at night and a full breakfast in the morning, you will also have fresh fruit at your disposal throughout the day. The food is prepared by the La Quinta catering, who make homestyle cuisine based on fresh local produce as gastronomically rich as Galicia.
You will not have the right to any refund once the surf camp has started, if you abandon it of your own accord, or due to the wishes of your parents or your guardians. The concept “start of the surfcamp” is understood as the first day of the camp. The expenses generated for the return trip, if any, will be borne by the parents or legal guardians. The participant will return home without the right to a subsequent claim or any economic compensation for the days and services not taken advantage of.
